Abrasion ≠ friction.

Two different questions. Two different measurements.

How abrasive is the yarn?

In the brochure’s abrasion method, yarn runs over a standard wire until the wire breaks. A longer tested yarn length indicates lower yarn abrasiveness. This measures wear caused by the yarn, not the yarn’s own resistance to abrasion.

How much friction occurs at contact?

Friction modules measure changes in tension as yarn contacts a pin or another yarn. The contact material and test geometry matter when selecting the setup.
